Job summary

Sheridans Cheesemongers is seeking a friendly Cheesemonger for our Douglas store on a part-time contract (8-16 hours per week). The role focuses on talking to customers, sharing cheese knowledge, and learning about Irish and European producers, with full in-house training and opportunities for progression.

You'll help with stock, displays, tastings, and delivering excellent customer service in a lively retail environment, with a great staff discount on Sheridans products.

Qualifications

• Friendly, confident communication and listening skills.
• Strong interest in artisan food, cheese, and local producers.
• Self-motivated and happy working as part of a team.
• Ability to stay organised and calm in a busy environment.
• Good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming customers and delivering exceptional service in a lively retail environment.
• Sharing knowledge about Irish and European artisan cheeses and producers.
• Recommending flavours, pairings, and products with confidence.
• Caring for cheese to ensure it is presented and sold at its best.
• Maintaining displays, stock, and signage throughout the day.
• Receiving deliveries and organising stock.
• Supporting stock rotation and reducing waste.
• Maintaining food safety standards and allergen awareness.
• Keeping counters, fridges, and storage areas clean and organised.
• Assisting with seasonal displays and hampers.
