Job summary

Ability West invites applications for the role of Person in Charge (PIC) to lead residential and short-break respite services for adults and children with intellectual disabilities and autism across Galway City and County, with emphasis on dignity, independence and community integration.

You will ensure compliance with Health Act 2007 and HIQA regulations, manage the centre's budget, staffing and rosters, develop person-centred programmes, supervise staff, drive quality and safeguarding, and

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role in health or social care.
• Level 7 or higher QQI qualification in nursing/social care or health science (QQI framework).
• NMBI registration.
• Proven track record of managing a residential service that meets quality, regulatory requirements.
• Proven track record of budget management.
• Full current driving licence.
• Excellent working knowledge of legislative/regulatory requirements and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the effective provision and operation of services to adults in Ability West’s designated centre.
• Ensure compliance with Health Act 2007 and HIQA regulations.
• Take on duties of Person in Charge for the designated centre.
• Manage and monitor the annual budget and staffing within the centre.
• Oversee rosters, medications administration, and records to ensure safety and quality.
• Develop and implement person-centred programmes reflecting individuals’ aspirations and needs.
