Job summary

Aramark Ireland is seeking a reliable Catering Assistant to join our Dungarvan catering team. This permanent role offers an opportunity to develop your skills in a professional hospitality environment, supporting food preparation, service, and hygiene.

You will assist with serving and setup, comply with safety standards, manage dietary requirements, and work with colleagues to maintain high service levels during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices, or willingness to obtain Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2.
• Strong organisational and time-keeping skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the serving of food and beverages to guests, ensuring a professional, courteous, and customer-focused service at all times with a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
• Comply with all food safety regulations, health and hygiene standards, and organisational policies at all times.
• Maintain awareness of dietary requirements and allergen information, ensuring guests' needs are met with empathy and care.
• Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods, remaining resilient and organised throughout the day.
• Assist with food preparation, plating, and presentation, maintaining attention to detail and high standards.
• Support the setup and breakdown of catering spaces, working collaboratively with team members.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, equipment, and utensils in accordance with hygiene standards.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors, demonstrating flexibility and a goal-oriented approach to tasks.
• Contribute to stock awareness and portion control using basic numeracy skills.

• Basic numeracy skills for portion control and stock awareness **Desirable:** - Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen awareness - Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or food service environment - Willingness to undertake induction training and develop your skill base within the role - Experience working in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
