Job summary

University Hospital Galway, in partnership with Aramark, seeks a Duty Manager to lead and supervise the Patient Food Services team. You will deliver meals and a positive service experience to patients, while ensuring high standards of food safety and SOP compliance across the hospital.

The role offers evenings off and a pattern of one in three weekends, with a competitive hourly rate and Sunday/Bank Holiday uplifts. Training, uniform provision, and pension options are included.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role or supervising in a fast-paced catering business.
• Interest in people and the drive to deliver exceptional service.
• Strong background in hospitality or catering is essential.
• Knowledge of Food Hygiene including HACCP.
• Problem-solving mind and solutions-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support and supervise the delivery of Patient Food Services across the hospital.
• Ensure teams strive to improve the experience of all patients using the services.
• Respond to customer feedback and implement prompt corrective actions.
• Support SOP implementation for all service aspects.
• Monitor compliance with food safety policies and legislation.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to direct reports.
• Train employees on SOPs and best practices in customer service.
• Follow all reasonable instructions from the Ward Manager.

As a Duty Managerwithin our team here at University Hospital Galway, you will be helping us to deliver our catering services to those requiring the hospital's facilities. This is a very rewarding position for the right candidate, delivering not only meals but also a positive and engaging service to patients. Our interactions contribute hugely to the experience of those using the hospital services, and we aim to improve each service user's day through our interactions.

• To support andsupervisethe delivery of Patient Food Services across the hospital


• Ensuring that our teams strive to improve the experience of all patients where they require our services


• Responding efficiently and accurately to customer feedback regarding products & services and ensuring prompt corrective actions are put in place where required.


• Supporting SOP implementation is in place for all aspects of service


• Monitoringcompliance as per Company food safety policies and procedures and legislative requirements


• Providing timely and constructive feedback to all direct reports as and when required either formally or informally


• Training employees on SOP's and best practices in customer service.


• To follow all reasonable instructions from the Wards Manager

You must have:
