Job summary

Intact Insurance in Galway is hiring a Customer Service Operations Underwriter to support car and home insurance underwriting decisions. The role focuses on telephone and email contact with customers and brokers in a fast-paced operations centre.

You will join underwriting professionals who deliver best-in-class service, with hybrid working options and ongoing coaching to develop underwriting and customer service skills. Training takes place in Knocknacarra, Galway.

Qualifications

• Leaving Certificate or mature students.
• Desirable experience in the insurance sector, though not essential.
• Great communication skills with superb telephone manner.
• Exposure to large multinational call centre environments would be an advantage.
• Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent organisational skills with focus on accuracy & attention to detail.
• Strong track record, demonstrating ability to meet targets.

Responsibilities

• Spend most of your time on the phone providing excellent customer service, and making underwriting decisions on car and home insurance.
• Work within your underwriting licence, and escalate underwriting decisions to senior team members.
• Meet and exceed your assigned individual and team targets.
• Focus on Quality Assurance and work with a coach to develop customer service and technical (underwriting) skills.
• Fulfil any additional administration duties in support of the role.
