My Client is a global FMCG/ Retail Organisation with a reputable name within the Healthy category and due to continued growth are now looking for a Senior Buyer to join the Business.

The purpose of the role

For this role, you will be accountable for the performance of a leading category within the group's portfolio. You will be expected to review under / over-delivery vs plan and activity in the market, ensuring you understand current trading performance, and how you can build plans and activities to drive sustainable, profitable growth for the category.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier relationships- Lead local supplier negotiations and joint business planning for our key strategic partners in Ireland, to maximise commercial opportunities. Ensure suppliers support and meet requirements across margin, marketing support, innovation and retail performance

Range- Work with the own label buying and product development teams, and the local Irish branded supplier base, to deliver innovative, desirable and profitable product ranges.Work with cross function teams to deliver range reviews in Ireland to unlock growth and opportunity

Trade Planning- Lead the Irish promotional trade planning process and deliver the plan for the category, which is customer led and drives profitable sales growth. Work with the trade planning and marketing teams to maximise the success of promotional activity and NPD launches.

Digital- Work with the digital team to understand our customer behaviour online and tailor purchasing mechanics for trial, conversion and repeat.

Reporting & Analysis- In additional to regular performance reporting, provide information and analysis to assess levels of slow moving & dormant stock and work with the team to clear. Maintain stock at agreed levels for planned activity and to reduce overstocks

Strategic projects- Ensure Ireland is considered in the planning and delivery of key strategic initiatives, relevant to your categories. Provide information, flag considerations, opportunities and potential challenges that may impact success of initiative

Required Experience

• Strong Commercial acumen and excellent analytical/ communication skills are a must
• 4-6 years experience in a buying role; trade marketing;or commercial role within the FMCG / Retail sector
• Ability to plan and priotrise and think ahead ; have a strategic mindset is key
• Proficient in Excel and Word
