Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders in line with forecasts, sales trends, and lead times.
• Maintain up-to-date purchasing and stock records.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships.
• Collaborate with supply chain, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveries.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues.
• Assist with range planning, product launches, and seasonal buying cycles.
• Support reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced Buyer / Supply Chain Specialist to join this well known, successful Irish company. Working directly with the Purchasing Director, this role offers significant opportunity for professional development and progression within a dynamic purchasing and supply chain function.

You will play a key role in managing stock levels, supplier relationships, and purchase orders, while supporting the smooth flow of goods across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders in line with demand forecasts, sales trends, and lead times
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing and stock records within internal systems
• Liaise closely with suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, lead times, and delivery schedules
• Build and maintain strong, professional supplier relationships
• Work collaboratively with the supply chain, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveries
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, or pricing issues as they arise
• Assist with range planning, product launches, and seasonal buying cycles
• Support the Purchasing Director with reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a buying, purchasing, or supply chain role (home furnishings, retail, or FMCG experience an advantage)
• Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
• Proven ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with suppliers
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
• A proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn and develop
