Dublin Meat Company is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Butcher Shop Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy butcher shop in Drogheda. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manager with a strong food background and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining high food safety standards, and driving commercial performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of shop operations, leading and developing the team, ensuring compliance with food safety and company procedures. As the shop operates seven days a week, flexibility and availability for weekend work is essential.
Lead, motivate and support the butcher shop team to deliver excellent customer service and operational performance.
Manage employee rosters and ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times.
Monitor employee performance and address any issues in a timely and professional manner.
Foster a positive, productive and customer-focused working environment.
Oversee the daily operation of the butcher shop, ensuring efficient and effective running of all activities.
Ensure product displays are well stocked, attractive and maintained to company standards.
Monitor stock levels, product rotation and waste management to maximise profitability.
Manage ordering and inventory control to ensure product availability while minimising waste.
Ensure equipment, facilities and work areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation.
Ensure full compliance with all food safety, hygiene, HACCP and quality standards.
Conduct regular checks and audits to ensure company and regulatory requirements are met.
Promote a culture of food safety awareness among all team members.
Ensure all documentation and records are completed accurately and maintained appropriately.
Prepare and maintain accurate operational, sales and staffing reports.
Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed.
Assist with budgeting, stock control and cost management activities.
Minimum 2 years' experience in a retail management or supervisory role, ideally within a food retail, butcher, deli or fresh food environment.
Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations and HACCP requirements.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Strong organisational and time management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Fluent spoken and written English.
