Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group presents an opportunity for an experienced Business Unit Supervisor to join a growing environmental services organisation. You will lead a key division, drive performance and profitability, and shape team development across multiple sites.

You will own planning, service delivery, budgets and KPIs, while building strong customer and stakeholder relationships and ensuring compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' management experience with responsibility for people and performance.
  • Experience leading teams across multiple sites and managing budgets and KPIs.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen, with excellent leadership and communication.
  • Experience managing employee performance and conducting reviews.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing operational teams across multiple locations, fostering accountability and high performance.
  • Overseeing planning, scheduling, and service delivery to ensure efficient resource use.
  • Monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Managing divisional budgets, revenue, margins, productivity, and KPIs.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve profitability and business growth.
  • Building strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Acting as senior escalation point for operational and service issues.
  • Collaborating with Finance, Fleet, Sales, Compliance, and Operations.
  • Ensuring activities meet health & safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting employee development through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

Job description

Our client, a growing and ambitious organisation within the environmental services sector, is seeking an experienced Business Unit Supervisor to join their leadership team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused operational leader to take ownership of a key business division, driving performance, profitability, customer satisfaction, and team development. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering operational excellence while supporting the continued growth of the business.

Responsibilities
  • Leading and developing operational teams across multiple locations, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Overseeing planning, scheduling, and service delivery activities to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Monitoring operational performance and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Desirable
  • Experience within environmental services, utilities, logistics, transport, facilities management, or a similar operational environment.
  • Health & Safety management experience.
  • Experience driving operational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
