Job summary

Mercor is seeking dedicated Bengali annotation specialists to build high-quality structured pages and faithful Bengali transcriptions. You will identify sections, binding regions, and reading order across diverse layouts, including multi-column pages, ensuring precise transcription at the character level.

Expected contributors will verify content, flag illegible regions, and collaborate in a dual-review workflow to ensure early accuracy.

Qualifications

• Native Bengali speaker with full command of script and diacritics.
• Experience with annotation, transcription, localization, or data review of documents.

Responsibilities

• Open and verify pages are Bengali, legible, with content and no personal data.
• Annotate structure: bound regions, assign type and reading order.
• Link regions to parent figures/tables.
• Transcribe text exactly in Bengali, mark illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, type, source, dimensions, table/form/handwriting flags.
• Review colleague's work end-to-end.
