Job summary

Fota Island Resort is seeking a Bar Supervisor to join our professional Food and Beverage team. The ideal candidate has hands-on leadership experience, deep beverage knowledge, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team while managing bar operations across the resort. Weekend and evening shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in a similar supervisory role, ideally in a hotel setting.
• Third-level hospitality qualification or equivalent.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, and beverage service.
• Fire, Health & Safety awareness and training.
• Strong restaurant and bar service skills; full implementation of SOPs.
• Ability to lead a team and manage functions.
• Staff management experience (labour costs, performance, attendance).
• Fluent English and full eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all bar services in the hotel
• Ensure the team consistently delivers and exceeds guest expectations
• Plan and lead daily team briefings
• Provide accurate, up-to-date product knowledge to guests and staff
• Assign stations and responsibilities during service
• Assist with onboarding and training of new team members
• Ensure correct setup of the bar before service and smooth handovers
• Collaborate with other departments as needed to ensure seamless service
