Job summary

Fota Island Resort is seeking a hands-on Night Supervisor to lead the Night Team and ensure guest service excellence during the night hours. The role spans Front Office, concierge and hotel operations to keep the overnight period running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will be guest-focused, calm under pressure, and capable of coordinating with multiple departments to maintain high standards for overnight guests and the following day’s operation.

Qualifications

• Full clean driver's licence.
• Experience using Opera and Micros hotel systems is desirable.
• Hospitality experience in a 4-5 star hotel is desirable.
• Experience in Front Office, concierge or similar customer-facing role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
• Ability to stay calm and organized during busy periods.
• Attention to detail and task prioritisation.
• Confident handling guest queries and complaints.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the Night Team.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, friendly, professional service to guests overnight.
• Support smooth hotel operations during the night shift with Night Manager supervision.
• Assist Front Office duties including check-in/check-out and guest inquiries.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, services, events and daily activity.
• Conduct nightly rounds to ensure cleanliness and presentation of public and guest areas.
• Ensure public areas and meeting spaces are clean and well-presented.
• Complete nightly Front Office checklists and handovers.
• Assist with night audit procedures and report distribution.
• Support concierge duties including luggage, guest requests and transport arrangements.
• Assist with meeting room set-ups for following day’s business.
• Support room service preparation and delivery when required.
• Aid Residents' Bar and F&B areas as needed.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B and other departments for seamless guest experience.

Fota Island Resort is currently recruiting for a Night Supervisor to join our dedicated Night Team.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working in a guest-focused environment during the night shift. The Night Supervisor will support the smooth running of the hotel overnight, ensuring our guests receive the highest level of service while assisting with Front Office, concierge and general hotel operations.

What We Are Looking For:

• Full clean driver's licence.
• Experience using hotel operating systems such as Opera and Micros is desirable.
• Previous hospitality experience, particularly within a 4 or 5-star hotel, is desirable

Responsibilities:

• Provide a warm, friendly and professional service to all guests throughout the night.
• Support the smooth running of the hotel during the night shift and assist the Night Manager with the supervision of nightly operations.
• Assist with Front Office duties including guest check-in and check-out, room queries, telephone enquiries and guest requests.
• Maintain a strong knowledge of the hotel, its facilities, services, events and daily activity in order to provide accurate information to guests.
• Complete regular walk-arounds of the hotel, public areas, accommodation areas and wider resort, ensuring standards of presentation, cleanliness and guest comfort are maintained throughout the night.
• Ensure public areas, entrances, meeting rooms and guest areas remain clean, tidy and presentable.
• Complete nightly Front Office checklists, reports and handovers.
• Assist with night audit procedures and ensure relevant reports are completed and distributed correctly.
• Assist with concierge duties including luggage assistance, guest requests, room drops and arranging taxis or other transport.
• Assist with meeting room set-ups and ensure function and meeting spaces are prepared for the following day's business.
• Assist with room service preparation and delivery where required.
• Support the Residents' Bar and Food & Beverage areas when required.
• Liaise closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Be fully aware of the daily status of the hotel, including occupancy, arrivals, departures, functions, events and relevant handover information.
• Lead by example, demonstrating a warm and welcoming approach to guests and encouraging a strong team ethos across departments.
• Follow all hotel SOPs, policies and procedures and ensure consistently high standards of service.
• Complete any other reasonable duties required to support the smooth operation of the hotel during the night.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, guest-focused supervisor who is comfortable moving between Front Office, concierge and general hotel duties and who takes pride in ensuring the hotel is ready for both our overnight guests and the following day's operation.
