Job summary

Fota Island Resort is seeking a Bar Supervisor to join our Food and Beverage team. You will oversee bar operations, lead staff, and ensure exceptional guest service with premium beverage knowledge in a luxury resort setting.

The ideal candidate has supervisory hotel experience, hospitality qualifications, and strong leadership, communication, and safety awareness. Weekend/evening availability is required and career growth within The Fota Collection is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in a supervisory role, ideally in a hotel setting.
• Third-level hospitality qualification or equivalent.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, and beverage service.
• Fire, Health & Safety awareness and training.
• Strong restaurant and bar service skills; full implementation of SOPs.
• Ability to lead a team and manage functions.
• Staff management experience (labour costs, performance, attendance).
• Fluent English and full eligibility to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all bar services in the hotel.
• Ensure the team consistently delivers and exceeds guest expectations.
• Plan and lead daily team briefings.
• Provide accurate, up-to-date product knowledge to guests and staff.
• Assign stations and responsibilities during service.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
• Ensure correct setup of the bar before service and smooth handovers.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed to ensure seamless service.
