The 5* Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate (part of the MHL Hotel Collection) is currently recruiting for a Bar Manager to join our award winning team.

About the position:

The main purpose of this role will be the delivery of a high-quality guest experience. The manager will hold responsibility for the highest levels of guest satisfaction while ensuring operational and financial target delivery.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the day to day running of Palmers Bar and Kitchen.
  • To ensure that the overall cleanliness and hygiene standards are being implemented and monitored in line with statutory requirements.
  • Ensure your departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents are updated and implemented.
  • To positively promote sales awareness within the department, & at all times maximizing sales opportunities to achieve/exceed budget sales targets.
  • To be actively involved and contribute/deliver sales in the bar. To include in house opportunities/average spend targeting.
  • To identify and implement new and innovative concepts/service standards that will maintain a competitive and leading edge over our Competitive set
  • Costing out of rosters in line with forecast while not compromising service levels.
  • Demonstrate assertiveness to instruct, firmly represent organisational standards and goals, or discipline as necessary
  • In conjunction with the Food & Beverage Management Team to ensure departmental skills training is carried out in a systemic and professional way and recorded and that all employees are fully aware and implementing departmental Standard of procedures.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment and selection of new team members ensuring both a skills and hotel culture fit.
  • Monitor employee satisfaction and engagement to limit employee turnover
  • To create an environment which promotes employee morale and encourages the team to have pride in their area of work with a high level of commitment.
  • To maintain regular and effective communication within the team and all levels by holding daily briefing sessions with the immediate team and attending meetings as required.
  • To ensure that all employees are complying with the Company uniform standards and are presented in a professional well-groomed manner.
  • To maintain efficient control measures of the bar stock and inventory
