Job summary

The Metropole Hotel Cork is seeking an experienced Bar Manager to lead the hotel bar and beverage service, delivering exceptional guest experiences across Bar, Restaurant, Room Service, Conference and Banqueting.

Reporting to the Deputy General Manager, you will manage the team, control costs, ensure licensing compliance, and drive revenue while portraying the hotel's values.

Job description

The Metropole Hotel is looking for an experienced and passionate Bar Manager to join our team and lead the bar operation, ensuring an exceptional experience for both our hotel guests and external customers.

As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of a high-quality, efficient beverage service while leading and developing the team and ensuring strong commercial performance.

The Role

Reporting to the Deputy General Manager / General Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the bar and beverage service across the hotel, including the Bar, Restaurant, Room Service, Conference and Banqueting areas.

You will play a key role in maintaining high service standards, achieving revenue and cost targets, and ensuring compliance with all relevant licensing and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the bar team, ensuring excellent standards of service and guest satisfaction.
• Deliver a consistently high-quality beverage service across all hotel outlets.
• Maintain a professional, presentable and approachable presence for both guests and team members.
• Provide strong leadership, support and guidance to the team.
• Deal confidently and professionally with demanding guests and challenging situations.
• Remain calm and professional when dealing with guests who may be intoxicated.
• Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and all company policies and procedures.
• Take responsibility for stock control, security and the effective management of company property.
• Monitor and control costs while maintaining high service and quality standards.
• Proactively work towards achieving revenue and commercial targets.
• Contribute to the commercial development of the outlet, including social media and marketing initiatives.
• Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to respond positively to changing business requirements.
• Promote and demonstrate the values of Trigon Hotels in everything you do.
