Job summary

HireIQ, in Cork, seeks an experienced Audit Director to lead the Cork audit portfolio within a fast-growing, technology-driven advisory firm. You will oversee client relationships, guide planning to completion, and drive quality and efficiency across audits.

The role offers significant autonomy, a clear path to Partner, and opportunities to shape service delivery for a diverse Irish client base of SMEs and owner-managed businesses.

Qualifications

• Director-level audit experience in practice or professional services.
• Experience managing audit portfolios and leading client relationships.
• Strong technical knowledge of audit, accounting standards and compliance.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop teams.
• Commercially minded with an interest in business development and growth.
• Strong communication skills with business owners and senior stakeholders.
• Ambitious and motivated by a genuine route to Partner.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of audit clients across Cork and the wider Munster region.
• Act as a trusted adviser to business owners, finance leaders and senior client stakeholders.
• Oversee the delivery of high-quality audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Review audit files and identify technical accounting matters and risks.
• Lead, mentor and develop audit managers, seniors and trainees.
• Support growth and development of the Cork audit team.
• Collaborate with Partners on client relationships and business development.
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships across services.
• Drive process improvement, quality standards and efficient audit delivery.
