Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment is seeking an Audit Director to take ownership of a broad audit portfolio with direct access to Partners. You will lead the end-to-end delivery from planning through to sign-off, ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance.

You will mentor staff at all levels, manage WIP and resources, and play a key role in governance, risk, and strategic initiatives while building senior client relationships in a dynamic culture.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification with 8+ years' post-qualification experience in professional practice.
• Strong technical audit background across multiple sectors.
• Proven experience leading teams and managing complex client relationships.

Responsibilities

What you'll own

Leading the end to end delivery of a broad audit portfolio, from planning through to sign-off. Reviewing audit files and financial statements to ensure technical excellence and regulatory compliance. Acting as a senior technical and commercial sounding board to audit teams and Partners. Managing WIP, billing, recoverability, resourcing and scheduling across your portfolio. Building trusted, senior level client relationships. Advising clients on audit planning, governance and risk management. Leading, mentoring and developing Managers, Assistant Managers, Seniors and Trainees. Playing a key role in departmental strategy and quality initiatives. Contributing to tenders, proposals and fee negotiations, and growing your own client portfolio.

What you'll bring

ACA or ACCA (or equivalent) qualified, with 8+ years' post qualification experience in professional practice. A strong technical audit background across a range of sectors. Proven experience leading teams and managing complex client relationships. Commercial awareness and a clear understanding of practice economics.
