Job summary

Amicus Recruitment seeks an Associate to join a leading Ireland-based Data Protection & Corporate team. You will advise on privacy, GDPR, data processing agreements, and related commercial contracts.

The role offers strong training, exposure to high-quality clients, and opportunities for long-term growth within a respected firm. Minimum 2 years' PQE with GDPR experience and solid drafting and research skills are required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years' PQE with solid data protection/GDPR experience.
  • Strong drafting and analytical ability.
  • Excellent legal research and business sense.
  • Good commercial awareness and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on privacy, data protection, GDPR, and related commercial contracts.
  • Handle data sharing and data processing agreements.
  • Draft and review data protection policies and procedures.
  • Consider data protection in wider commercial contracts and transactions.
  • Prepare online terms, e-privacy, and marketing compliance work.
  • Conduct gap analyses, risk assessments, and DPIAs.
  • Monitor developments in data protection and information security.
  • Lead data breach investigations and remediation work.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to clients and cross-team on data protection matters.

My client, one of Ireland's largest full-service law firms, is seeking an Associate to join their Data Protection & Corporate team as part of its continued growth. This is a firm with a strong brand, an established reputation for legal excellence, and a genuine track record of structured career progression a great platform for someone looking to build a long-term specialism in this area.

The Role
  • You'll advise across a broad and varied data protection caseload, including: Privacy, data protection, GDPR, and related commercial contracts
  • Data sharing and data processing agreements
  • Drafting and reviewing data protection policies and procedures
  • Data protection considerations in wider commercial contracts and transactions
  • Online terms and conditions, e-privacy, and direct marketing compliance
  • Gap analysis, risk assessments, and data protection impact assessments
  • Monitoring and advising on developments in data protection and information security
  • Data breach investigations and remedial work
  • Providing training and ongoing support to clients, and cross-team support on data protection matters firm-wide
The Person
  • Minimum 2 years' PQE with solid data protection/GDPR experience, ideally alongside broader corporate and commercial contracts exposure
  • Strong technical and drafting skills
  • Excellent legal research and analytical ability
  • Good commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Strong communicator, both written and interpersonal
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
