Job summary

Hunter Savage, a leading international law firm, seeks a Technology, Data & Privacy Solicitor to join its Irish practice in Dublin or Cork, with hybrid working and exposure to privacy, data protection, AI and technology regulation for domestic and international clients.

You will work with a senior partner on GDPR compliance, AI governance, data transfers and multi‑jurisdictional matters, while drafting privacy policies, DPAs and technology contracts.

Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor with around 3–4 years’ PQE (flexible for right experience).
  • Experience in technology, data protection, privacy, cybersecurity, AI or digital regulation.
  • Comfortable advising on complex regulatory and commercial matters.
  • Strong drafting, communication and client-management skills.
  • Enthusiasm for AI, privacy and technology law.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on Irish and EU data protection and privacy law, including GDPR.
  • Support AI systems development, governance and compliance.
  • Draft and review privacy policies, DPAs and tech contracts.
  • Assist with cybersecurity incidents, risk assessments and regulatory notices.
  • Collaborate with international offices on cross-border mandates.
  • Advise on data transfers and technology regulation.

Technology, Data & Privacy Solicitor
The Role

A leading international law firm is seeking a Technology, Data & Privacy Solicitor to join its growing Irish practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with around three to four years’ PQE to work closely with a senior partner who has extensive experience advising organisations on privacy, data protection, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and wider technology regulation.

There is some flexibility around the PQE level for candidates with particularly relevant experience.

The successful candidate will advise a broad range of domestic and international clients, from start-ups and public-sector bodies to major global organisations.

The role may include:

  • Advising on Irish and EU data protection and privacy law, including GDPR compliance.
  • Supporting clients with the development and implementation of AI systems, applications and governance frameworks.
  • Advising on emerging digital, AI and technology regulation.
  • Assisting with cybersecurity incidents, data breaches, risk assessments and regulatory notifications.
  • Advising on international data transfers and multi-jurisdictional privacy projects.
  • Supporting new product development, digital marketing, ad tech and data analytics projects.
  • Drafting and reviewing privacy policies, data processing agreements and technology-related contracts.
  • Helping clients establish and manage global privacy compliance programmes.
  • Working alongside corporate and commercial teams on transactions involving technology, data and regulatory considerations.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the firm’s international offices on cross-border mandates.
The Person

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified solicitor with around three to four years’ PQE, although there is flexibility depending on relevant experience.
  • Have experience in one or more areas such as technology, data protection, privacy, cybersecurity, AI or digital regulation.
  • Be comfortable advising clients on complex regulatory and commercial matters.
  • Have strong drafting, communication and client-management skills.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively across different practice areas and international teams.
  • Have a genuine interest in the rapidly developing areas of AI, privacy and technology law.
