Job summary

John Sisk & Son is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a major energy infrastructure project in Ireland. You will work with the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyors to assist with financial and contractual management on the 400kV connection project.

You\'ll gain exposure to cost value reconciliations, CVRs and subcontractor valuations, while developing your knowledge of contract forms and site measurement in a collaborative, family‑owned

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with the Standard Method of Measurement (SMM).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships.
• Demonstrates commercial awareness and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial team in day-to-day duties.
• Assist with tenders including measurement, packaging and analysis.
• Assist with variations, valuations and final accounts under supervision.
• Prepare subcontractor valuations and final accounts with guidance.
• Carry out site measurement and maintain accurate records and control documents.
• Monitor progress on site and report on commercial impacts.
• Attend site and subcontractor meetings as required.
• Contribute to cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and cash management under supervision.
• Assist with the implementation of the commercial strategy.
• Ensure risk and opportunity are considered during all commercial activities.
• Act professionally at all times and support the commercial team in upholding company standards.
• Gain experience in traditional contracts with some responsibility.
• Gain exposure, without full responsibility, to subcontractor negotiations, contract law interpretation, and design and build contracts.
