Job summary

John Sisk & Son Ltd seeks an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a major energy infrastructure project, including cost control, tender analysis and subcontractor valuations. You will work with the Commercial Manager and Senior QS, gaining exposure to contract law and building strong commercial relationships.

Essential qualifications include a Quantity Surveying degree, good communication, and familiarity with SMM and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying and knowledge of SMM.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiar with MS Office and time management.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial team in day-to-day duties.
• Assist with tender preparation including measurement, packaging and analysis.
• Assist with variations, valuations and final accounts under supervision.
• Prepare subcontractor valuations and final accounts with guidance.
• Carry out site measurement and maintain records and control documents.
• Monitor progress on site and report on commercial impacts.
• Attend site and subcontractor meetings as required.
• Contribute to CVRs and cash management under supervision.
• Assist with the implementation of the commercial strategy.
• Ensure risk and opportunity are considered during all commercial activities.
• Act professionally and uphold company standards.
• Gain exposure to subcontractor negotiations and contract forms.
