Job summary

Uniphar Group is seeking a Surgical Area Manager to lead customer engagement and sales for surgical products across large hospitals in the south Dublin and Northern Ireland areas. You will present, demonstrate and secure orders, building lasting partnerships and driving quarterly and annual sales targets.

The role requires a clinical or sales background, comfort in operating theatres, and the ability to communicate effectively while managing multiple opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in clinical or commercial sales within Healthcare or FMCG.
  • Medical device sales desirable but not essential.
  • Comfortable working in operating theatres.
  • Able to communicate well and project a positive image of the company and its products.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; high personal drive.

Responsibilities

  • Presenting, demonstrating and securing orders in the surgical products area.
  • Develop relationships with key customers to build lasting partnerships.
  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales plans.
  • Assist customers with clinical, technical and commercial enquiries.
  • Plan and implement business development across the area; identify new opportunities.
  • Collect and interpret market and competitor information.
  • Provide feedback on customers and launches; contribute ideas to improve product performance.
  • Support new product launches and corporate activities in the area.
  • Attend relevant conferences and meetings.

Purpose of the Role

The main responsibility of the Surgical Area Manager will be to provide an interface with key target customers specifically in the area of surgical products. The territory involved would include Large Hospitalsin the south Dublin and Northern Ireland Areas.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Key Outcomes
  • This is a sales role and involves presenting, demonstrating and securing orders. Working on own initiative to see opportunities and convert them to sales is essential.
  • Develop relationships with key customers into lasting business partnerships.
  • Achievement of sales plans on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Assist customers with clinical, technical and commercial enquiries.
  • Business planning and implementation throughout area of responsibility. Development of new business opportunities and determination of new client and market potential.
  • Systematic collection, presentation and interpretation of market and competitor information.
  • Provide feedback on customers, promotional programs and environmental changes and provide ideas to improve product and company performance in the market place.
  • Implementation of new product launches and other corporate activities within area of responsibility.
  • Attendance at relevant conferences and meetings.
Key Skills & Experiences
  • Overall 5+ years’ experience in clinical sales and/or commercial sales roles within the Healthcare or FMCG sectors
  • Medical device sales desirable but not essential.
  • A clinical background would also be an advantage
  • Be comfortable working in operating theatres.
  • Be target driven and have the ability to “Close” sales.
  • You will have the ability to communicate well and deliver a positive image of the company and its products.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills are a pre-requisite for this role as is a high reliance on personal drive and initiative.
  • The ideal candidate will be commercially aware and have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Have the necessary education and practical experience to deal with the complex medical device technologies in a clinical background.
  • Have an outgoing and persuasive personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with all general business computer tools and applications is essential.
  • Full driver’s License.
