Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ireland is seeking an Apprentice Service Electrician to join our Service team. This four-year programme covers LV, MV and HV systems, with exposure to transformers, substations, switchgear, protection systems and grid infrastructure.

You will be enrolled in a structured apprenticeship path with SOLAS accreditation, mentor support, and opportunities to progress into High Voltage Service Engineering roles across Ireland.

Qualifications

• Minimum A Level in Mathematics, Physics or Engineering subjects.
• Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
• Strong interest in electrical engineering and power systems.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to travel throughout Ireland; driving licence if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and servicing of high/medium/low voltage equipment.
• Support commissioning and testing activities.
• Participate in transformer inspections and diagnostics.
• Support substation maintenance activities.
• Assist with protection and control system testing.
