Job summary

Jones Engineering is seeking a qualified Accountant to join our team at our Pembroke Road, Dublin 4 headquarters. The role focuses on managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance, and supporting cross-functional teams with financial insights.

You will report to the European Financial Controller, overseeing accounting, tax, payroll, and audit processes across Europe, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or related field required.
  • ACA/ACCA certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year post- qualified experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting or finance role.
  • Proficient in financial management software, such as SAP.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, payments, and other general ledger transactions.
  • Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to inform management decisions.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate funds for operational needs.
  • Manage payroll related activities for relevant jurisdictions (including shadow payroll).
  • Manage Tax/VAT returns and payments and other regulatory/compliance requirements.
  • Review financial results to ensure alignment with Transfer Pricing policies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Monitor supply chain within projects to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the audit process for relevant jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with HR on Employment Policies and Processes.
  • Support the setup of new entities within Europe region.
  • Support management with ad hoc requests as required.
  • Mentor and coach other team members.

Job Description

Jones Engineering are looking to hire a qualified accountant to join our team. This is a full-time role based onsite at our headquarters in Pembroke Road, Dublin 4. As a Qualified Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, reviewing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting, tax and supply chain regulations. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial advice and support in decision-making processes.
