Kepak Group is seeking an ambitious Accountant to join our team in Clonee, Meath. The role supports financial performance, drives continuous improvement, and partners with the business to achieve strategic goals.

The position combines financial reporting, analysis, business partnering, and process improvement within a dynamic, collaborative environment. It is a 9-month fixed-term contract with responsibilities across the general ledger, month-end close, VAT, and statutory returns.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) or part-qualified with relevant experience.
• Experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
• Analyse financial performance and provide variance commentary.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Prepare financial reports for senior management.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Process journals, accruals, and prepayments.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Support internal and external audit processes.

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and supporting the business in achieving its financial objectives. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide timely financial information to support decision-making.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
• Analyse financial performance and provide commentary on variances and trends.
