Create the Opportunity, Own the Relationship
OBW Technologies is seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Account Executive to establish and grow our presence across the Greater Dublin Area.
This is not a conventional territory sales role. It is a market-development opportunity for someone who wants to build something: creating relationships, identifying opportunities early and positioning OBW as a trusted partner across the critical infrastructure, life sciences, data centre, transport and advanced manufacturing sectors across Ireland’s largest economic region.
About OBW Technologies
OBW Technologies is a leading provider of critical life-safety solutions, headquartered in Limerick with additional operations in Cork and at Leixlip. We partner with world‑leading manufacturers and support customers across the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, life sciences, energy and utilities sectors.
As a privately owned Irish business, we have experienced significant growth in recent years and have ambitious plans for the future. To support that growth, we are investing in our commercial capability and building a stronger, more deliberate presence in key regional markets.
The Opportunity
As Account Executive for the Greater Dublin Area, you will be OBW’s commercial presence in the region. You will develop new and existing accounts, build relationships with the consultants, contractors, facilities teams and operators who influence investment and specification, and connect customer requirements to the full range of OBW’s capabilities.
You will own your customer relationships from first conversation through project delivery, commissioning, service, calibration, renewal and future growth. Working closely with our Projects, Engineering, Service and Customer Lifecycle teams, you will make sure customers experience OBW as one connected business.
This is a highly visible role with real autonomy, suited to someone who is comfortable creating opportunity rather than waiting for it to arrive.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Development & Market Presence
- Build and deliver a structured growth plan for the Greater Dublin Area across new business, existing accounts, strategic projects and recurring revenue.
- Establish OBW as a visible and credible participant in the region’s critical infrastructure community.
- Grow priority accounts and re‑engage dormant, underdeveloped and unassigned opportunities.
Relationship & Ecosystem Development
- Develop purposeful relationships with end customers, consulting engineers, design teams, contractors, facilities providers, operators and relevant industry networks.
- Engage early to understand routes to market and connect OBW with opportunities before formal enquiry or tender.
- Convert market visibility and relationships into qualified commercial opportunities.
Strategic Account Ownership
- Act as the commercial owner for assigned customers, with current account plans covering stakeholders, priorities, opportunities, risks and next actions.
- Understand each customer’s operating environment, installed base, compliance priorities, projects and service needs.
- Maintain commercial continuity beyond the initial sale, through commissioning, service, calibration, renewal and upgrade.
Opportunity Development & Value Selling
- Lead consultative customer discovery, site engagement, proposals, negotiation and commercial close.
- Position OBW around customer risk, compliance, operational continuity and outcomes rather than isolated product requests.
- Bring the right technical expertise into customer discussions at the right stage.
- Protect value, margin and the long‑term customer relationship.
- Maintain a forward view of investment, emerging projects, decision‑makers, influencers and competitor activity across priority sectors.
- Use this insight to shape account priorities, campaigns, events and resource decisions.
- Deliver agreed revenue and gross profit objectives while building and maintaining a strong, qualified pipeline.
- Keep CRM, pipeline and forecast information accurate and up to date, including visibility of the end customer on contractor‑led projects.
- Work closely with Projects, Engineering, Service, Workshop, Finance and Marketing, and take a full part in account reviews, pipeline reviews and forecasting.
In your first year, you will be expected to:
- Build a territory map covering priority accounts, sectors, consultants, contractors, operators and networks.
- Establish account plans for OBW’s most strategically important existing and target customers in the region.
- Develop strong relationships with key consulting engineers, contractors, facilities organisations and selected industry forums.
- Build a qualified regional pipeline across projects, service, calibration and lifecycle opportunities.
- Improve visibility and continuity of the end‑customer relationship on contractor‑led projects.
- Support an OBW‑led Dublin technical briefing, customer roundtable or sector event.
- Put in place a clear rhythm of territory reporting, account reviews and market updates.
About You
We are looking for a commercially driven, externally focused professional who combines strong relationship skills with the discipline to turn those relationships into sustainable growth.
- Proven B2B commercial experience in a technical, engineering, industrial, infrastructure or similarly complex environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing a territory or market, creating new relationships and growing existing accounts.
- Strong consultative selling, account planning, negotiation and pipeline management skills.
- Credibility with technical, operational, procurement, commercial and senior customer stakeholders.
- Sound commercial judgement, with a clear understanding of value, margin, risk and long‑term account potential.
- Structured and disciplined approach to CRM, follow‑up, forecasting and reporting.
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in business, engineering, sales or a related discipline.
- Full driving licence and ability to travel regularly throughout the Greater Dublin Area and elsewhere in Ireland as required.
- Experience or established relationships within gas and fire detection, monitoring, instrumentation, facilities, life sciences, data centres, transport, public infrastructure or adjacent technical sectors.
- Experience of specification‑led selling and consultant or contractor routes to market.
- Experience with service agreements, recurring revenue or lifecycle propositions.
- Formal commercial, account management, technical sales or negotiation training.
What You’ll Bring
You will be:
- Commercially driven and comfortable creating opportunity rather than waiting for inbound demand.
- Credible and curious, able to build relationships with technical and executive audiences alike.
- Structured and accountable, with strong follow‑through.
- Collaborative and low‑ego, with the confidence to bring in internal expertise without needing to be the technical specialist.
- Forward‑looking and equally comfortable with strategic account development and day‑to‑day commercial progression.
