Job summary

PT Membara Cipta Sehati in Jakarta seeks a skilled Sommelier to lead wine service in our fine dining venue. You will curate an exceptional wine program, present and pair wines, and guide guests with passion and knowledge.

This role requires 2–3 years in a similar wine-focused position, deep knowledge of international wines, inventory management, and the ability to upsell while delivering personalized service. English fluency is preferred, and willingness to work flexible shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience as a Sommelier, Wine Specialist, or in a similar role.
• Experience in fine dining, luxury hotel, or premium hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of international wines, vintages, regions, and pairings.
• Excellent wine presentation, tasting, and recommendations.
• Ability to recommend wines based on guests’ preferences, menu, and budget.
• Wine list management, inventory control, stock rotation, and storage.
• Knowledge of wine service standards, decanting, temperatures, and glassware.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for confident explanations.
• Good sales skills with upselling while personalizing guest experience.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Professional appearance and a passion for wine and fine dining.
• Wine certifications such as WSET or Court of Master Sommeliers preferred.
• Willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Job description

Strong knowledge of international wines, including grape varieties, wine regions, vintages, producers, and food-and-wine pairing.

Experienced in wine list management, inventory control, stock rotation, and proper wine storage.
