Job summary

Grab is seeking a Senior Middle-Mile Operations Lead for GrabMart in Jakarta. You will drive end-to-end middle-mile movements, optimize linehaul and inter-hub transfers, and ensure cost-effective, reliable inventory movement between suppliers, warehouses and stores.

You will manage 3PLs, carrier performance, and delivery metrics, while collaborating with warehouses, finance, and commercial teams to scale GrabMart in Indonesia.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in middle-mile, transport, or supply chain operations in e-commerce/retail/consumer goods.
• Experience managing end-to-end transport execution and carrier performance.
• Experience leading 3PLs/transport vendors and partner reviews.
• Familiar with TMS, fleet tools, GPS tracking, and warehouse systems.
• Strong stakeholder management across warehouses, stores, carriers, and regional teams.
• Proficient cost analysis and route optimization skills.
• Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead middle-mile movements including linehaul, inter-hub transfers, and cross-docking.
• Oversee transport execution: planning, dispatch, capacity, and delivery tracking.
• Manage 3PLs and drivers against service, cost, and safety targets; drive improvements.
• Define and monitor metrics: on-time departures, fill rate, costs, and delivery accuracy.
• Develop SOPs and escalation processes to improve shipment visibility and quality.
• Collaborate with warehouse, inventory, and finance to align demand and capacity.
• Lead incident/contingency management for delays and disruptions; ensure recovery plans.
• Coach teams and promote safety; drive continuous improvement projects.

Get to Know the Role

You will lead middle-mile transportation operations across GrabMart Indonesia, ensuring reliable, efficient, and cost-effective movement of inventory between suppliers, warehouses, dark stores. Your primary goal is to maintain high service levels, fleet and carrier productivity, shipment visibility, and safe execution while improving network performance. This role is critical for scaling GrabMart in Indonesia.

You will report to the Manager. You will based onsite. You may be require regular travel to operating sites, hubs, and partner facilities.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will manage and improve end-to-end middle-mile movements, including linehaul, inter-hub transfers, replenishment routes, cross-docking, and scheduled store deliveries.
• You will manage daily transport execution: route planning, dispatch, vehicle and capacity allocation, cut-off adherence, delivery tracking, exception management, and proof-of-delivery reconciliation.
• You will manage third-party logistics partners, transport vendors, and drivers against agreed service, cost, safety, and compliance standards; lead performance reviews and corrective actions.
• You will define and monitor key operational metrics such as on-time departure and arrival, fill rate, utilization, cost per trip, shipment accuracy, damages, cancellations, and failed deliveries, using root-cause analysis to drive improvements.
• You will build operating standards, SOPs, control-tower routines, and escalation mechanisms that improve shipment visibility and protect product quality across the network.
• You will partner closely with warehouse, inventory, commercial, finance teams to align demand, capacity, schedules, and peak plans.
• You will lead incident and contingency management for delays, capacity shortfalls, weather or road disruptions, damages, and other operational risks, ensuring communication and recovery plans.
• You will coach operations teams and vendor supervisors, promote a safety culture, and implement-improvement projects across middle-mile operations.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• 5+ years of experience in middle-mile, transportation, logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations within e-commerce, retail, FMCG, or a related sector.
• Proven expertise managing end-to-end transport execution, including linehaul or inter-hub transfers, route planning, dispatch, carrier management, and delivery exceptions.
• Demonstrated experience managing 3PLs or transport vendors, operational requirements, and driving partner performance through structured reviews and action plans.
• Experience with transport management systems (TMS), fleet or dispatch tools, GPS tracking, warehouse systems, and data dashboards.
• Strong stakeholder-management, with the ability to coordinate across warehouses, stores, carriers, and regional teams.
• Improve cost analysis logistics and optimization routing method.
• Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
