Job summary

YAGEO Group seeks an experienced Customs and Export/Import Compliance specialist in Batam to manage regulatory requirements and HS code classifications. The role coordinates with logistics, procurement and customs authorities to ensure compliant shipments and accurate costing.

The candidate should have 2-3 years in customs activities, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong English/Bahasa Indonesia communication. Preference for PPJK certification and meticulous attention to documentation.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in Customs Activity & Area, especially Batam regulations on industry products.
• Bachelor's degree in Export/Import, Logistics & Transportation or International Trade.
• In-depth knowledge of import/export regulations, Incoterms, and trade compliance.
• PPJK familiarity or certification is preferable.
• High attention to detail in document review to avoid delays.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Indonesia for effective communication with customs officials.

Responsibilities

• Compliance and Regulation: ensure shipments adhere to local customs laws, tariffs, and tax regs.
• Update from government sources and implement necessary changes.
• HS Code Classification to determine duties, taxes, and exemptions.
• Coordinate with internal departments, vendors, freight forwarders, and customs authorities.
• Calculate and manage duties, taxes, and optimize logistics costs with procurement.
• Provide monthly Air Sea Ratio Freight reporting.
• Ensure PEB availability for plant export/import activities.
• Understand Incoterms as applied with vendors and customers.

• Compliance and Regulation: Ensuring all shipments adhere strictly to local customs laws, tariffs, and tax regulations.
• Follow update from government from information shared & implement necessary point.
• HS Code Classification: Classifying products under correct customs tariff codes (HS Codes) to calculate duties, taxes, and potential exemptions.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinating with internal departments (logistics/warehouse), vendors, freight forwarders, and customs authorities.
• Calculation of Costs: Calculating and managing duty payments, tax fees, and optimizing logistics routes to reduce costs. Work with procurement to get the best option cost possible.
• Reporting: Provide Air Sea Ratio Freight report in monthly basis.
• Understand & ensuring PEB available for plant export & import shipment activities.
• Understand Incoterm applied with vendor & customer and able to recognize.

Requirements

• Experienced 2-3 years in Custom Activity & Area, including understanding Batam Custom regulation especially on Industry Part Product.
• Bachelor's degree related major such as Export Import, Logistic & Transportation, or International Trade.
• Knowledge of Regulations: In-depth knowledge of import/export regulations, Incoterms, and trade compliance.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with customs clearance systems (e.g., PPJK), PPJK certified is preferable.
• Attention to Detail: High accuracy in document review to prevent costly delays.
• Communication Skills: Proficiency in English & Bahasa Indonesia and ability to communicate effectively with customs officials.
