Job summary

PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk in Banyuwangi, East Java, seeks an experienced Mandarin-English-Bahasa interpreter and translator to support meetings, negotiations, audits, and site visits. The role involves translating and reviewing technical, operational, contractual, and business documents, ensuring terminology accuracy for mining and construction.

The candidate will prepare bilingual MoM, reports, and presentations and facilitate cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language, English, Translation, Linguistics, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mandarin Translator or Interpreter.
• Fluent Mandarin with HSK5 preferred; strong interpretation skills.
• Fluent English, TOEFL 550+ or IELTS 6.0 preferred.
• Mining, construction, or heavy industry exposure preferred.
• Strong presentation and report-writing ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Indonesia interpretation during meetings, negotiations, audits, inspections, and site visits.
• Translate and review technical, operational, contractual, and business documents for accuracy.
• Facilitate communication between management, departments, expatriates, contractors, and consultants.
• Clarify technical information to support cross-functional coordination and reduce barriers.
• Prepare bilingual MoM, reports, presentations, and business correspondence; follow up on actions.
• Maintain proper mining/engineering terminology for operations and activities.

Job description

Provide Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Indonesia interpretation during meetings, negotiations, audits, inspections, and site visits.

Translate and review technical, operational, contractual, and business documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Facilitate communication between management, internal departments, expatriates, contractors, and consultants.

Support cross-functional coordination by clarifying technical and operational information and minimizing communication barriers.

Follow up on meeting action items and prepare bilingual Minutes of Meeting (MoM), reports, presentations, and business correspondence.

Maintain proper technical terminology related to mining, engineering, construction, and operational activities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Chinese Language, English, Translation, Linguistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mandarin Translator or Interpreter.

Fluent Mandarin is mandatory; HSK Level 5 is preferred, with strong verbal interpretation skills.

Fluent English, preferably equivalent to TOEFL 550+ or IELTS 6.0.

Experience in mining, construction, or heavy industry is preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, with good presentation and report-writing skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the flexibility to work outside regular hours when required by business operations.

Willing to work at Banyuwangi, East Java.
