Job summary

PT China Road And Bridge Construction Indonesia (Batam) seeks a Field Technician to support our on-site operations in Batam, Riau Islands. You will inspect equipment, assist with installations, collect field data, and ensure safety and quality on site.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, 2+ years in field engineering or technical roles, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office, with strong English/Indonesian communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Technical mastery and ability to read/interpret blueprint drawings.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in field engineering or technical roles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections and testing of equipment, machinery, and construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
• Provide technical support to construction teams on-site, including troubleshooting equipment issues and advising on proper operational procedures.
• Collect, document, and analyse field data related to project progress, quality metrics, and material performance.
• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on construction equipment and site infrastructure.
• Assist in the installation, calibration, and commissioning of technical equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to identify and resolve technical challenges and optimise project workflows.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, test results, and equipment condition reports.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site.
• Support the training and supervision of junior technical staff when required.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Field Technician to join PT China Road And Bridge Construction Indonesia (Batam). This is based in Batam, Riau Islands, where you will play a crucial role in supporting our field operations and ensuring the successful delivery of our engineering projects.

What we're looking for

• Strong communication skills in Indonesian and English, both written and verbal
• Physical fitness and willingness to work in challenging field environments
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation
• Language & Communication: Proficiency in English or Mandarin as a working language for daily coordination, alongside active usage of WeChat.
• Team Spirit: A strong team player who proactively communicates difficulties, cooperates smoothly with the Chinese management team, and drives overall business efficiency.
