Job summary

CHANG LIAN INDONESIA is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a contract role in Batam Kota, Riau Islands. You will oversee construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to high quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, stakeholder liaising and adherence to safety regulations. Responsibilities include planning, cost control, site management, documentation, risk mitigation and regular progress

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in construction.
• Proven track record delivering projects from inception to completion.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety standards.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills across priorities.
• Proficiency in PM software and tools; strong stakeholder communication.
• Ability to manage budgets and control costs; leadership experience.
• Problem-solving under pressure and effective decision-making.
• Knowledge of Indonesian regulations is highly desirable.
• Professional PM certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join CHANG LIAN INDONESIA on a contract basis. This is a strategic role positioned within our construction operations, based in Batam Kota, Riau Islands. As Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of construction projects from inception through to completion. You will play a critical role in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position is essential to our commitment to excellence and operational success in the construction industry.

Key responsibilities

• Planning, organising and coordinating all construction project activities, including scope definition, scheduling and resource allocation
• Managing project budgets, monitoring expenditure and ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle
• Overseeing day-to-day construction operations and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
• Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships and manage expectations
• Preparing and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes and contractual records
• Identifying and managing project risks, implementing mitigation strategies and resolving issues as they arise
• Ensuring quality assurance standards are met throughout all construction phases and delivery stages
• Monitoring project progress against agreed timelines and implementing corrective actions when necessary
• Leading and coordinating project teams, including site supervisors, engineers and contractors
• Managing project communications and ensuring all stakeholders remain informed of progress and any changes

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in the construction industry
• Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from conception to completion
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, materials and health and safety regulations
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Proficiency in project management software and tools
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control project costs
• Problem-solving capabilities and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Leadership experience with the capacity to motivate and coordinate teams
• Knowledge of local construction regulations and practices in Indonesia is highly desirable
• Professional certification in project management (such as PMP or equivalent) is preferred
