Job summary

Samudera Indonesia seeks a senior engineer to oversee port operations, ensuring efficient ship traffic, safe facilities, and robust data analysis. The role guides teams, supports continuous improvement, and champions integrated management processes across the organization.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in engineering, strong leadership, and fluency in Indonesian and English, with expertise in AutoCAD, SAP2000/ETABS, and project planning tools. This on-site position is based in Jakarta.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a relevant role.
• Professional fluency in Indonesian and English (written & spoken).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, SAP2000/ETABS and project planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage the arrival and departure of ships, ensure loading/unloading proceeds smoothly and regulate port movements.
• Provide facilities and safety procedures for ships, cargo, and workers at the port.
• Analyze operational data to improve efficiency, evaluate performance, and make data-driven decisions.
• Develop team members through mentoring, coaching and counseling.
• Support the Integrated Management System and risk documentation across the department.

Main Responsibilities

• 1. Manage the arrival and departure of ships, ensure loading and unloading takes place smoothly, and regulate ship movements within the port.
• 2. Provide adequate facilities and safety procedures for ships, cargo, and workers at the port.
• 3. Analyze operational data to improve efficiency, evaluate performance, and make data-driven decisions.
• 4. Responsible for developing team members through various means, such as mentoring, coaching, counseling, etc.

General Responsibilities

• 1. Ensure the implementation of an Integrated Management System, including the identification, documentation, and control of risks in the relevant department's work area.
• 2. Foster and ensure the commitment of every team member to understand and adhere to all applicable Integrated Management System requirements.
• 3. Be willing to participate in the investigation process of accidents, incidents, or actions that may lead to incidents caused by unsafe actions or unsafe conditions, including providing accurate information and reports based on known facts.
• 4. Be willing to engage in the information security control process applied to protect the information assets and information processing assets owned and/or managed by the Company from threats to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Qualifications

• 1. Education: Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Engineering
• 2. Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• 3. Professional fluency in Indonesian and English (written & spoken).
• 4. Technical Proficiency: Microsoft Office, MS Project/Primavera, AutoCAD, SketchUp, SAP2000/ETABS
• 5. Demonstrated leadership, strategic decision-making, effective communication, adaptability, strong teamwork, and a positive mindset.
