Job summary

The role involves ensuring certification standards, leading field teams, and monitoring research projects to drive continuous improvement across Southern Sumatra crops and supply chain operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in agronomy, sustainability certification, project management, or related field, preferably in coffee/commodity industry.
• Proven experience managing and supervising field teams.
• Good knowledge of sustainability certification standards (4C, UTZ, Rainforest Alliance).
• Proficient in spoken and written English.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented professional to join PT Sucden Coffee Indonesia as a Sustainability & Research. In this role, you will support sustainability and agronomy activities, oversee field teams and research projects, ensure compliance with sustainability certification standards, and contribute to the company’s sustainability strategy through accurate production and supply chain insights.

What you'll be doing

Ensure compliance with sustainability certification and verification standards, including 4C, Rainforest Alliance, and Sucden Coffee Verified (SCV).

Lead and supervise agronomy and field teams to ensure the effective implementation of sustainability and research activities.

Plan, document, monitor, and report on sustainability and research projects, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement.

Conduct audits and support quality assurance through corrective actions and performance evaluations.

Coordinate with local and international partners and represent the company in sustainability-related forums and stakeholder meetings.

Contribute to improving research methodologies and the accuracy of Robusta production estimates in Southern Sumatra through effective mapping and representative sampling of crops, farmers, and collectors.

Monitor coffee trade flows, weather patterns, and production forecasts to support sustainability strategies and business decision-making.

Provide regular updates and insights to relevant stakeholders on sustainability, agronomy, research, and field activities.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in agronomy, sustainability certification, project management, or a related field, preferably within the coffee or commodity industry.

Proven experience managing and supervising field teams.

Good knowledge of sustainability certification standards, particularly 4C, UTZ, and Rainforest Alliance.

Proficient in spoken and written English.

Strong organizational skills, with a good understanding of structure, accountability, risk management, and internal controls.

Strong leadership skills with excellent communication and the ability to clearly communicate and convey ideas.

Strong motivational and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively across different cultures and stakeholders.

Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Willing to travel regularly for field activities, audits, project implementation, and stakeholder coordination.
