Job summary

Apical is seeking a seasoned supervisor for its fatty acid refinery operations in Indonesia. You will supervise daily production, optimize distillation and related processes, and ensure adherence to HSE standards while mentoring operators and coordinating with support teams.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in fatty acid/oleochemical production, with at least 1 year in supervision, and a strong background in DCS/SCADA and process optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fatty acid/oleochemical production with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of fatty acid production processes and continuous plant operations.
• Familiar with DCS/SCADA, production planning, and process optimization.
• Strong understanding of HSE standards, PSM, and ISO management systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily fatty acid refinery operations to meet production targets, quality, and efficiency.
• Monitor and optimize distillation, fractionation, deodorization, and utility consumption; troubleshoot deviations.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards; conduct safety inspections and incident investigations.
• Lead, coach, and develop production operators; ensure effective shift handovers.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality Control, and Engineering to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
• Prepare production reports, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily fatty acid refinery operations to ensure production targets, product quality, and operational efficiency are achieved.
• Monitor and optimize refinery processes, including distillation, fractionation, deodorization, and utility consumption, while troubleshooting process deviations.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards by enforcing safe work practices, conducting safety inspections, and participating in incident investigations.
• Lead, coach, and develop production operators to maintain high performance, operational discipline, and effective shift handovers.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality Control, and Engineering teams to minimize downtime, ensure equipment reliability, and resolve production issues.
• Prepare production reports, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, yield, quality, and cost efficiency.

To be successful in this role, it is recommended that you should have the following skills and qualifications:
