Job summary

AsiaPalm, a leading oleochemical company, seeks an experienced QA/QC leader to head the QA/QC department in a large-scale, continuous-process setting in Jakarta. You will ensure regulatory compliance, drive CAPA-driven improvements, and collaborate across Production, R&D and Supply Chain to maintain high quality standards.

The role requires 10 years in QA/QC, 3+ years in senior leadership, and proven experience in oleochemical or related industries. Based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related technical field.
• Master's degree preferred in Chemistry or Quality Management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the QA/QC department in a large-scale operation.
• Oversee internal and external audits including regulatory inspections and customer audits.
• Drive compliance with FSSC 22000, RSPO, Halal, Kosher requirements.
• Implement RCA, CAPA, FMEA, and 5-Why methodologies for quality improvements.
• Utilize SPC and data analytics to monitor quality KPIs across production, R&D and supply chain.

Job description

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum: A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related technical field.
• Preferred: A Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Chemistry or Quality Management).

Experience

• Total Experience: 10 years in Quality Assurance/Quality Control within a continuous-process manufacturing environment.
• Leadership Experience: At least 3 years in a senior managerial role, leading a QA/QC team.
• Industry Expertise: Direct experience in the oleochemical, specialty chemical, specialty fats or closely related process industries (e.g., petrochemicals, food processing) is preferred.
• Specific Experience (High-Value Operation): A proven track record in leading and managing a QA/QC department for a large-scale relevant industry.

Key Certifications

• Lead Auditor: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor is a significant advantage.
• Process Improvement: Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
• Quality Systems & Compliance: Deep knowledge and implementation experience with:
  • Oleochemical-Specific: FSSC 22000 (Food Safety), RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil), Halal, and Kosher
  • Audit & Regulatory Management: Proven ability to lead and manage internal and external audits and host regulatory inspections, as well as manage customer audits and qualification activities.
• Problem-Solving Methodologies: Expertise in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), FMEA, and 5-Why.
• Data-Driven Quality: Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC), process capability analysis, data analytics, and quality metrics/KPIs is preferred.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership skills to manage and develop a team, combined with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Production, R&D, and Supply Chain.
