Pepito Supermarket is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily supermarket operations across multiple categories, driving sales and ensuring top service levels. The role demands strong leadership, inventory control, and adherence to SOPs while coaching a large team and maintaining high standards of quality and customer experience.

The candidate will oversee stock, pricing, promotions, and visual merchandising, with a focus on reducing shrinkage and maximizing store performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's degree (S1) in management or related field.
  • 3–5 years in supermarket/retail/FMCG with at least 2 years in store management.
  • Experience across fresh, grocery, bakery, frozen, beverage, and non-food products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall supermarket operations safely and efficiently per SOPs.
  • Achieve store sales, profit, and operational KPIs and targets.
  • Monitor P&L, budget, and expenses to stay aligned with targets.
  • Ensure product availability, stock levels, replenishment, and turnover.
  • Control expiry, FIFO/FEFO, and shrinkage; maintain pricing and displays.
  • Lead merchandising, planograms, and promotional execution.
  • Maintain product quality and freshness; ensure food safety and cleanliness.
  • Provide excellent customer service and handle complaints professionally.
  • Lead and develop store team; conduct coaching and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Marketing, etc.
  • Monitor competitors and market promotions; analyze KPI reports.
  • Prepare regular store operational reports and improvement plans.

Requirements

Minimum Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's degree (S1), preferably in Management, Business, Retail Management, or a related field.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in supermarket, retail, FMCG, or grocery, with at least 2 years in a Store Manager or Store Assistant Manager position.

Proven experience managing supermarket operations across various product categories, including fresh, grocery, bakery, frozen, beverage, and non-food.

Strong understanding of sales management, sales targets, Profit & Loss (P&L), budgeting, and store productivity.

Good knowledge of inventory management, stock accuracy, stocktaking, replenishment, expiry control, and shrinkage control.

Understanding of merchandising, product display, pricing, promotions, and planograms.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze sales data and make decisions based on store KPIs.

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Proven ability to manage large teams, conduct coaching, team briefings, and performance evaluations.

Strong customer-oriented mindset with a focus on customer experience and service excellence.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Willing to work on a shift basis, including weekends and public holidays, based on operational requirements.

Experience managing a premium supermarket or retail business with high service standards is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Manage overall supermarket operations effectively, safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company SOPs.

Take full responsibility for achieving store sales, profit, operational KPIs, and business targets.

Monitor store P&L, operating expenses, manpower costs, and budget utilization to ensure alignment with targets.

Ensure product availability by monitoring stock levels, replenishment, stock accuracy, and inventory turnover.

Control near-expiry products and ensure proper implementation of FIFO/FEFO according to product categories.

Minimize shrinkage by controlling losses, damages, waste, and inventory discrepancies.

Ensure all products have accurate pricing, labeling, displays, and promotional information.

Control merchandising execution, planograms, product placement, and visual displays in accordance with Pepito standards.

Ensure all promotional programs, campaigns, and seasonal activities are executed effectively and achieve their targets.

Maintain product quality and freshness, particularly for fresh produce, meat, seafood, bakery, ready-to-eat, chilled, and frozen products.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, workplace safety, and overall store condition.

Ensure excellent customer service and handle customer complaints promptly and professionally.

Lead, manage, motivate, and develop the store team to achieve operational and sales targets.

Conduct regular briefings, coaching, performance evaluations, and ensure employee discipline and productivity.

Conduct workforce planning and ensure adequate manpower availability based on store operational requirements.

Coordinate effectively with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Finance, HR, Marketing, and other relevant departments.

Monitor competitors' activities, promotions, pricing, and strategies within the surrounding market area.

Analyze sales, inventory, shrinkage, manpower, and other store KPI reports to develop appropriate action plans.

Prepare regular store operational reports and provide improvement recommendations to management.

Ensure all store activities comply with company SOPs, policies, standards, and applicable regulations.
