Job summary

Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort in Bali is seeking an Assistant Steward Manager to oversee the Stewarding department under the Steward & Hygiene Manager, ensuring top cleanliness and safety in all F&B outlets and kitchens. You will supervise the Steward Ambassadors, manage inventory, and coordinate with Engineering for equipment upkeep.

Strong HACCP knowledge and 3–5 years in stewarding/kitchen roles are required, with 1–2 years in supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in Stewarding or Kitchen operations in a luxury hotel.
• At least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and chemical handling.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hospitality systems.
• Flexible and able to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Steward & Hygiene Manager in daily operations of the Stewarding department, ensuring efficient workflow and staffing.
• Supervise Steward Ambassadors, ensuring grooming, attendance, and standards.
• Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation across kitchens and dishwashing areas.
• Ensure HACCP, health regulations, and safety compliance.
• Manage inventory and handling of operating equipment, with regular stock takes.
• Coordinate with engineering for repair and maintenance of stewarding equipment.
• Oversee chemical usage, storage, and cost-efficient cleaning agent use.
• Assist in staff training, safety briefings, and skills development.
• Help prepare operational reports, staff schedules, and duty rosters.
• Handle equipment requests and coordinating during banquets/events.
• Maintain cross-department communication with Culinary, F&B Service, and Engineering teams.
