We are seeking a Specialist / Supervisor Instrument to join our Engineering team on a full-time basis in South Sumatra. This is a critical position within our electrical and electronic engineering operations, responsible for overseeing instrumentation systems that are vital to our manufacturing processes. You will play a key strategic role in ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and optimal performance of all instrument and control systems across our pulp and paper mills. This position requires both technical expertise and leadership capability, as you will be supervising instrumentation staff whilst maintaining hands‑on involvement in complex technical projects.
Oversee the installation, calibration, maintenance and repair of instrumentation and control systems throughout the mill facilities
Supervise and mentor instrumentation technicians and junior staff, providing technical guidance and training to ensure team competency
Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics of electrical and electronic instrumentation equipment to identify potential issues before they impact production
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all instrumentation systems to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiency
Troubleshoot and resolve complex instrumentation problems, utilising advanced diagnostic techniques and industry best practices
Collaborate with production and process engineering teams to optimise instrumentation setups and control strategies
Prepare detailed technical documentation, including maintenance records, system schematics, and troubleshooting reports
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for all instrumentation work
Manage instrumentation budgets, equipment procurement and spare parts inventory
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and operational performance
Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation or related discipline
Good in English oral and written
Good in MS Excel and Power Point
Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in instrumentation and control systems within manufacturing or industrial environments, preferably in pulp and paper or similar process industries
Proven supervisory or team leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and develop technical staff
Strong proficiency in instrumentation technologies including pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, level indicators and control systems
Hands‑on experience with industrial control systems, PLC programming and SCADA systems
Solid understanding of electrical systems, circuit diagrams and troubleshooting methodologies
Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail in technical analysis
Knowledge of ISO standards, safety regulations and compliance requirements relevant to instrumentation
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams
Proficiency in both Indonesian and English language (written and spoken)
Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the facility and surrounding areas when required
