Job summary

Worley in Indonesia is seeking a Lead Instrument & Control Engineer to lead the instrument control discipline for the project, ensuring engineering deliverables meet contract requirements and securing technical sign-off on changes.

With 15 years of experience in Instrument & Control, you will drive the design, safety, and reliability of control systems for power and process facilities, including geothermal and related energy projects.

Qualifications

  • Safety knowledge and ability to implement safety processes.
  • Experience with geothermal power plants or steam fields is preferred.
  • Experience in power plant design and specification for geothermal systems (Rankine/ORC).
  • 15 years of experience in Instrument & Control discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Develop preliminary designs and specifications; prepare performance-based EPC documents for power plant projects; participate in tender evaluation and factory acceptance tests.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant international standards and regulatory requirements; review and consolidate comments from other disciplines and operations.
  • Plan and design tools, instrument & control systems; manage equipment for monitoring and control; consider reliability, maintainability and operability.

What You’ll Do

We are looking for Lead Instrument & Control Engineer to join our team in Indonesia.

The Role Responsibilities Include
  • Development of preliminary designs and specifications, development of performance-based EPC contract documents for power plant and SAGS, tender evaluation, design review and attendance at key factory acceptance tests.
  • Ensures the correct implementation of relevant international standards and any applicable regulations requirements, review and comments (including the consolidation of the comments from the other engineering disciplines and operations) of the key deliverables such as Safety In Design (SID) Concept
  • Perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, instrument & control, managing and/or maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering system, machinery and process. All design must be considered reliability, maintainability and operability
  • Have accountability for instrument control engineering discipline for the project which includes assurance that the engineering deliverables are compliant with contract requirements and technical sign-off of changes.
  • Responsible to ensure Control Systems, Instrumentations and DCS working properly and report all significant known operational, design, equipment deficiencies/defects to I&C leader and record to CMMS.
  • The Instrument Control Engineer is an interdisciplinary approach to enable the plant control systems, focuses on defining customer needs and required functionality with design synthesis and system validation.
  • The Instrument Control Engineer is specialised branch of control system, electrical and electronic engineering that focuses on the measurement, control and automation of processes. In scientific terms, instrumentation is defined as the art and science of measurement and control of process variables within a production, or manufacturing area.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for power plant and assembling instrument components. Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
What You’ll Have
  • Having basic safety knowledge, able to implement safety process and mitigate risk effectively in order ensure safety working properly.
  • Design engineers with specific geothermal power plant and Steam Field Above Ground (SAGS) experience.
  • Experience in power or oil & gas plant design and specification of geothermal power plant comprising both conventional Rankine steam cycle and Organic Rankine Cycle plant.
  • Have 15 years of experience in Instrument & Control discipline.
