Job summary

PT PHC Indonesia is seeking a Sourcing Material Staff (Mechanical) to source, assess, and qualify suppliers based on technical capability, cost, and delivery performance.

You will collaborate with engineering teams, manage supplier onboarding, and support cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and process standards.

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and fluent English are required, with strong communication and cost-conscious mindset.

• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and BOM.
• Strong communication with engineering teams and suppliers.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes for metal and plastic parts.
• Basic knowledge of sourcing and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Source, assess, and evaluate potential new suppliers based on technical capability, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Manage supplier onboarding process, including documentation, compliance, and initial qualification.
• Conduct material cost analysis and manage material cost structures to ensure cost effectiveness and competitiveness.
• Lead and support material cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiation, alternative sourcing, and value engineering collaboration.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal engineering teams and external suppliers regarding technical specifications and sourcing requirements.

Job Description – Sourcing Material Staff (Mechanical)

Responsibilities:

Source, assess, and evaluate potential new suppliers based on technical capability, quality, cost, and delivery performance.

Manage supplier onboarding process, including documentation, compliance, and initial qualification.

Conduct material cost analysis and manage material cost structures to ensure cost effectiveness and competitiveness.

Lead and support material cost reduction (cost down) initiatives through supplier negotiation, alternative sourcing, and value engineering collaboration.

Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal engineering teams and external suppliers regarding technical specifications and sourcing requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum requirement: able to read and understand engineering drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM).

Strong communication skills to liaise with engineering teams and suppliers.

Good understanding of manufacturing processes for metal parts and plastic parts.

Basic knowledge of sourcing, supplier evaluation, and cost analysis is an advantage.

Detail-oriented, analytical, and cost-conscious mindset.

Fluent in English is a must have requirement.
