Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical component development, sourcing engineering, supplier development, product development, or related roles.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOM.
• Experience with supplier development, quotation, tooling, prototyping, or mass production is preferred.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for mechanical components based on capability, quality, cost, capacity, and delivery performance.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, and Production teams to understand requirements, drawings, BOM, specifications, and processes.
• Support development from supplier selection, technical discussions, quotations, and sample evaluation to mass production readiness.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities and manufacturing processes for metal and plastic components (machining, stamping, sheet metal, injection molding, casting).
• Conduct material and component cost analysis, including quotation comparison and cost structure evaluation.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through alternative sourcing, material/process optimization, supplier negotiation, and value engineering.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams on specs, design changes, manufacturability, quality issues, and improvements.
• Conduct supplier evaluation and support supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
• Support sourcing activities for new product development and engineering changes.

Conduct material and component cost analysis, including quotation comparison and cost structure evaluation. Drive and support cost reduction / cost-down initiatives through alternative sourcing, material/process optimization, supplier negotiation, and value engineering. Coordinate with suppliers and internal engineering teams regarding technical specifications, design changes, manufacturability, quality issues, and component improvements. Conduct supplier evaluation and support supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance monitoring. Support sourcing activities for new product development and engineering changes, ensuring component requirements meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical component/part development, sourcing engineering, supplier development, product development, or a closely related engineering role. Hands-on experience developing, selecting, evaluating, or improving mechanical components/parts is required. Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM). Good understanding of manufacturing processes for metal and plastic components. Experience working with suppliers/manufacturers for component development, quotation, tooling, prototyping, sampling, or mass production is highly preferred. Understanding of material/component cost analysis, supplier evaluation, and cost reduction. Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented and cost-conscious mindset. Fluent in English, both written and spoken, is a must.
