Job summary

Bekerdja.id in Indonesia is seeking a Senior R&D Formulator to develop and improve food and beverage formulations, focusing on taste, texture, stability, and cost efficiency. You will lead bench trials for powder-based and ready-to-consume products and prepare samples for internal evaluation.

The role requires a diploma or bachelor’s in Food Technology or Chemical Engineering, at least 3 years of R&D experience in the food industry, and solid knowledge of GMP, HACCP, BPOM, Halal, and ISO 22000.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of R&D experience in food/beverage/supplement industry.
• Understanding of GMP, HACCP, BPOM, Halal, ISO 22000, etc. principles.
• Understanding of sensory testing principles.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop new product formulations and improve existing ones in taste, texture, stability, and cost efficiency.
• Conduct laboratory trials (bench tests) for powder-based and ready-to-consume products.
• Prepare product samples for internal evaluation and organoleptic testing.
• Perform stability tests including pH, color, aroma, solubility, viscosity, and shelf-life.
• Select suitable raw materials (flavors, sweeteners, stabilizers, colorants, functional ingredients) for formulation needs.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding raw material samples and technical data.
• Create formulation documents, raw material specifications, and standard procedures for production.
• Support production scale-up trials and provide recommendations based on trial outcomes.
• Ensure all formulations comply with BPOM, Halal, and food safety regulations.
• Conduct research on market trends, competitor products, and new ingredient innovations.
