Job summary

NEWLAB+ Group is a fast-growing FMCG company in Indonesia focusing on beauty, health, and wellness products. We seek a Research and Development Manager (Formulator Manager) to lead product innovation, ensure formulation excellence, and align with market demands for competitive products.

The candidate will oversee end-to-end development from concept to commercialization, drive stability testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, high-quality skincare and health

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field (min. GPA 3.00).
• 8+ years in formulation/R&D within skincare/health/pharmacy industries; 2–3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong expertise in product formulation (emulsions, gels, serums; ingestible formats) and active ingredient knowledge.
• End-to-end product development experience from concept to commercialization.
• DOE, stability testing, and product performance evaluation knowledge.
• Familiar with regulatory requirements (BPOM, ASEAN/international standards) and product registration.
• Strong leadership, project management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts into business insights.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement formulation strategies aligned with business objectives and trends.
• Lead development of skincare/health products from concept through commercialization.
• Design, develop, and optimize formulations (emulsions, serums, gels, ingestibles).
• Conduct research on new ingredients and technologies to drive innovation.
• Perform stability testing, compatibility studies, and product performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with Marketing, QA/QC, Production, Regulatory, and Supply Chain for launches.
• Manage scale-up from lab to mass production with consistency and efficiency.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and product registration.

We are seeking a Reseach and Development Manager (Formulator Manager) to lead our product innovation initiatives. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving end-to-end product development, ensuring excellence in formulation, and delivering competitive products aligned with market demands

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement formulation strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives and market trends.
• Lead the development of skincare and/or health products from concept through commercialization, ensuring product efficacy, safety, and compliance.
• Design, develop, and optimize product formulations (e.g., emulsions, serums, gels, and/or ingestible formats such as tablets, capsules, powders).
• Conduct research on new ingredients, technologies, and industry trends to drive continuous innovation.
• Perform stability testing, compatibility studies, and product performance evaluation to ensure product quality and shelf-life.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, QA/QC, Production, Regulatory, and Supply Chain to ensure successful product launches.
• Manage scale-up processes from laboratory to mass production, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
• Ensure all products comply with regulatory requirements and standards, including product registration and claims substantiation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the formulation team while managing project timelines and resources effectively.

Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (min. GPA 3.00).
• 8+ years of experience in formulation/R&D within skincare, health, or pharmacy industries, including 2–3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong expertise in product formulation (e.g., emulsions, gels, serums, and/or ingestible formats) and active ingredient knowledge.
• Proven experience in end-to-end product development, from concept to commercialization.
• Solid understanding of DOE, stability testing, and product performance evaluation.
• Familiar with regulatory requirements (BPOM, ASEAN/international standards) and product registration.
• Strong leadership, project management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business insights.
• Willing to WFO at Kebon Jeruk, Jakarta Barat.
