Job summary

Macmahon Mining Service in Jakarta, Indonesia, is seeking a Senior Purchasing Lead to drive end-to-end procurement activities, manage supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with policies and contracts. You will monitor performance, identify risks, and implement improvements while coordinating with Operations, Maintenance, and Finance teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years in purchasing or supply chain, with 3+ years in leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain, preferably in mining, heavy equipment, construction, or heavy industry.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, vendor management, negotiation, contract administration, compliance, and ERP/procurement systems.
• Strong leadership, analytical thinking, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP or similar systems will be an advantage.
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal, will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end purchasing activities, including purchase requisition review, sourcing, quotation comparison, negotiation, purchase order processing, and delivery follow-up.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approval limits, contract terms, and audit requirements.
• Monitor purchasing performance, vendor service levels, delivery accuracy, quality compliance, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Warehouse, Logistics, Finance, and Compliance teams to support business continuity.
• Prepare purchasing reports, identify procurement risks, and recommend improvements to purchasing processes and controls.
• Lead, coach, and develop the purchasing team to achieve service, compliance, and performance targets.
