Job Description

Responsible for leading and performing Level 2 network operations to maintain the availability, performance, security, and recoverability of enterprise network services. The role handles daily operations, incident resolution, approved changes, preventive maintenance, service requests, and operational automation across data-center, branch, cloud-connectivity, and network-security environments.

• Act as the senior technical reference for Network Operations engineers.
• Coordinate daily network operations, incidents, service requests, maintenance, and approved changes.
• Assign and prioritize operational work according to service impact, urgency, SLA, and technical risk.Lead L2 network diagnosis and recovery during service disruptions.
• Coordinate escalation to Network Engineering, ISP, and vendors.
• Mentor junior engineers in troubleshooting, operational procedures, change execution, and documentation.
• Ensure network operational knowledge is distributed across the team and does not depend on one individual. Promote operational automation, standardization, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
• Provide responsive network support to application teams, SRE, infrastructure teams, client-integration teams, security teams, and other internal stakeholders.
• Handle network incidents and service requests according to agreed SLAs and business priorities.
• Maintain ownership of assigned issues until recovery, resolution, or formal escalation.
• Communicate network impact, affected connectivity, troubleshooting progress, risks, and estimated recovery clearly.Translate technical network issues into understandable business and service impacts.
• Validate connectivity and service recovery with the requester, service owner, SRE, or application team.
• Coordinate effectively with ISP and external partners for circuit or connectivity incidents.
• Operate routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, VPN gateways, wireless infrastructure, and related network services within the approved operational scope.
• Perform network health checks covering device status, interfaces, links, routing, latency, packet loss, errors, bandwidth utilization, and hardware resources.review routing neighbors, network paths, redundancy mechanisms, and high-availability status.
• Perform approved device restart, failover, interface recovery, routing validation, and standard corrective actions.
• Maintain network device backups and verify backup completeness.Monitor certificate validity, licenses, device capacity, hardware lifecycle notifications, and support-contract status.Identify configuration drift, unauthorized changes, recurring issues, and capacity risks.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, device inventories, circuit records, IP address records, and operational procedures.
• Perform L2 diagnosis and recovery for network availability, connectivity, performance, and routing incidents.Troubleshoot packet loss, latency, interface errors, routing failures, DNS issues, VPN failures, load-balancing problems, and connection timeouts.
• Correlate network symptoms with application, server, database, cloud, and transactional-service impact.Validate connectivity at relevant network layers using approved diagnostic tools.
• Apply known workarounds, standard recovery procedures, and approved corrective actions.
• Coordinate with SRE during incidents affecting transactional products and customer-facing services.
• Coordinate with Server and System Operations, Cloud Operations, Database Operations, Network Security, and application teams during cross-domain incidents
• Execute approved network configuration changes according to L3-defined standards and designs.
• Perform standard VLAN, port, access-control, route, load-balancer, VPN, and connectivity changes within the authorized operational scope.
• Prepare implementation steps, technical validation, risk assessments, communication requirements, and rollback procedures.
• Verify device configuration and network health before and after changes.analyze bandwidth utilization, device resources, interface utilization, latency, jitter, packet loss, connection usage, and error rates.Identify network congestion, traffic imbalance, unstable links, saturated devices, and deteriorating service quality.
• Perform initial performance analysis and collect evidence for L3 engineering review.Report capacity trends and threshold breaches before they affect production services.
• Ensure network-device configurations are backed up according to policy.
• Perform restoration of approved configurations following established procedures.
• Support high-availability, redundancy, and failover testing.
