The Senior Interior Designer controls the approved interior design language, materials, colours, furniture, decorative lighting, FF&E and styling. The Senior Interior Architect remains responsible for technical interior planning, detailing, multidisciplinary coordination and construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities
Creative Direction and Concept Development

Interpret the client brief, project positioning, target market, operating model, commercial objectives and approved budget.

Independently develop complete interior-design concepts for luxury residential, hospitality and mixed-use projects.

Establish an original and consistent interior identity for each project.

Prepare concept presentations, mood boards, material palettes, design narratives and visual references.

Apply a timeless international design sensibility informed by leading European and global residential and hospitality design.

Develop refined solutions based on proportion, balance, composition, restraint, material authenticity, colour, texture and lighting.

Present design options to management and clients and clearly explain the reasoning behind each recommendation.

Revise concepts in response to approved commercial, technical, operational and budget requirements.

Design for Bali

Translate international design standards into interiors suited to Bali’s tropical climate, construction environment, supplier market and hospitality sector.

Select materials, finishes, furniture and products appropriate for local humidity, durability, maintenance, availability and installation conditions.

Use local materials, manufacturing capabilities and craftsmanship intelligently where appropriate.

Develop interiors that respond to their location without relying on generic tropical decoration, copied references or repetitive Bali styling.

Balance the intended international design character with buildability, procurement requirements and long-term operation in Bali.

Interior Planning and Design Integration

Develop interior layouts, furniture arrangements and spatial concepts in coordination with the Senior Interior Architect and Senior Project Architect.

Consider circulation, ergonomics, functionality, privacy, guest experience and hospitality operations.

Coordinate with the relevant discipline leaders to maintain visual consistency between interiors, architecture, lighting, landscape and external areas.

Work with the Senior Interior Architect to ensure the approved creative concept can be developed into coordinated and construction-ready documentation.

Coordinate with MEP Engineers and other specialists where building systems affect ceilings, lighting, equipment, finishes, furniture or the visual character of the interior.

Follow applicable hotel operator or branded-residence design standards where relevant.

Escalate unresolved creative, technical, budget or multidisciplinary conflicts to the Head of Architecture.

Materials, Finishes and FF&E

Select and specify colours, materials, textures and finishes appropriate to the project’s design direction, positioning and target market.

Select loose furniture, decorative lighting, artwork, accessories, fabrics, rugs, curtains, blinds and other soft furnishings.

Develop furniture concepts and custom loose-furniture designs.

Develop the creative concept for kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes, vanities and fixed joinery, with technical detailing completed by the Senior Interior Architect.

Develop decorative-lighting concepts in coordination with the Senior Interior Architect and Electrical Engineer.

Prepare room-by-room FF&E requirements, schedules, creative specifications, quantities and procurement information.

Consider cost, availability, lead time, durability, maintenance and replacement requirements.

Maintain organised records of approved materials, finishes, furniture, samples and design decisions.

Visualisation and Design Review

Prepare clear design briefs, reference packages and mark‑ups for the Architectural Drafter and 3D Visualizer.

Review interior visualisations and confirm their compliance with the authorised design direction before management or client presentation.

Identify incorrect proportions, materials, colours, furniture, lighting or styling shown in visualisations.

Select and present physical samples, material boards, prototypes and mock‑ups.

Review technical drawings, shop drawings, samples and prototypes for compliance with the approved design intent.

Leave technical accuracy, constructability and multidisciplinary documentation under the authority of the Senior Interior Architect and relevant specialists.

Procurement and Implementation

Coordinate with procurement staff, suppliers, manufacturers and specialist subcontractors.

Review supplier proposals, product information and proposed substitutions from a design-quality perspective.

Recommend approval, rejection or correction of substitutions based on design character, material quality, proportions, suitability and visual consistency.

Carry out value engineering without unnecessarily weakening the approved design standard.

Participate in supplier visits, showroom reviews, factory inspections and prototype evaluations where required.

Provide clear design information to support accurate pricing, sourcing, ordering and installation.

Coordinate international product sourcing and imports where relevant to the approved design.

Conduct site visits to verify that materials, furniture, decorative lighting and styling comply with the approved design.

Identify poor visual proportions, inappropriate substitutions, inconsistent finishes and workmanship affecting the design quality.

Coordinate furniture installation, artwork, accessories and final styling.

Participate in design‑related snagging, handover and preparation of completed projects for professional photography.

Creative Leadership and Delivery

Manage creative deliverables and priorities across multiple projects.

Maintain the approved interior‑design language from initial concept through procurement, installation and final styling.
