Job summary

Saipem seeks an experienced accounting professional to manage full sets of accounts for EPC projects and JV entities, focusing on AP and accurate reporting. The role requires IFRS knowledge and SAP proficiency. Expect coordination with cross-functional teams and support for audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 8–10 years of accounting experience in MNC in Construction, Oil & Gas, or EPC.
• Big 4/audit experience preferred, 2–3 years.
• ACCA/CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of full-set accounting, closing, reconciliation and reporting.
• Knowledge of IFRS (IFRS 9/15/16/18).
• Proficient in SAP and Excel.
• Strong English communications with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage full sets of accounts for EPC project/JV with focus on AP and reporting.
• Coordinate with procurement, expediting, cost control, and other teams for compliance.
• Review payments and post journal entries in SAP (accruals, intercompany, FX).
• Monitor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support monthly/quarterly closing and financial statements.
• Assist auditors with schedules and documents.
• Implement internal controls and finance policies.
• Support tax, compliance, and internal audit activities.
• Perform other finance duties as directed.

How can you support us? Here are below your responsibilities:

• Manage full sets of accounts for EPC project/JV entities, with strong focus on Accounts Payable (AP) and accurate financial reporting.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Expediting, Cost Control, Contract Administration, Treasury, and Tax teams to ensure compliance with project procedures and contractual requirements.
• Review payment proposals and supporting documents, and support the Finance Manager in preparing and posting complex journal entries in SAP, including accruals, provisions, intercompany transactions, and FX gains/losses.
• Monitor AP, AR, and other balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Execute quarterly/monthly closing activities in accordance with the Group financial calendar and perform analytical review of Balance Sheet and P&L fluctuations.
• Support preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Act as the primary contact for external/Big 4 auditors by preparing audit schedules, supporting documents, contracts, bank statements, and responding to audit queries.
• Implement and maintain project internal controls, financial procedures, and Group accounting policies, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Support tax, compliance, internal audit, and other finance-related activities as required.
• Perform other finance and accounting assignments as directed by the Finance Manager.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years of accounting experience, preferably in an MNC within the Construction, Oil & Gas, or EPC industry.
• Experience in a Big 4 or reputable audit firm is highly preferred, ideally with 2–3 years of financial audit experience.
• Professional accounting certification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of full-set accounting, financial closing, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16, and IFRS 18.
• Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Excel.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively with local and international stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict reporting deadlines.
