Job summary

Saipem Indonesia is seeking an experienced QC Coordinator to oversee on-site quality control for offshore pipelay and double‑jointing operations, focusing on CRA line pipes and coating processes.

You will manage multi‑discipline inspection teams, review welding and coating documentation, and ensure strict adherence to project standards and safety rules. On-site/offshore readiness is required.

Qualifications

• Offshore pipelay and double‑jointing QC experience with CRA pipes.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Total 10+ years in QA/QC with at least 3 years in a similar role.
• Leadership and coordination of multi‑disciplinary inspection teams.
• Familiarity with international pipeline codes (DNV-ST-F101, API 1104, ASME, AWS, ISO).
• Relevant certifications in welding inspection and NDT.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and client liaison skills.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to work on-site, including offshore locations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all quality control activities onboard offshore pipelay vessels or yards.
• Ensure compliance with QCPs, ITPs, and project specifications.
• Supervise on-site QC team (Welding, Coating, Pipe tallies).
• Review Welding Procedures, PQRs, welder qualifications, and coating procedures.
• Monitor welding parameters, consumables, heat treatment, and equipment calibrations.
• Lead compilation and sign-off of final As-Built documentation and quality records.
• Manage NCR process and close-out of quality issues.
• Act as QC liaison between production, engineering, and client representatives.

How can you support us? Here are below your responsibilities:

1. Oversee and coordinate all quality control activities, including welding and field joint coating (FJC) inspections onboard offshore pipelaying vessels or at double-jointing yards.
2. Ensure full implementation and compliance with approved Quality Control Plans (QCP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), and project specifications.
3. Supervise and manage the on‑site QC inspection team (Welding, Coating inspectors and Pipe tallies) to ensure efficient deployment and adherence to safety and quality standards
4. Review technical quality documentation, including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), welder qualifications, Coating procedures prior to operations.
5. Monitor and audit welding parameters, consumables control, heat treatment, and equipment calibrations against approved project procedures.
6. Lead the compilation, review, and final sign‑off of the final As‑Built documentation and Quality Records.
7. Manage the Non‑Conformance (NCR) process, tracking corrective actions, and ensuring effective close‑out of quality issues.
8. Act as the primary QC liaison between production management, engineering, and client representatives to resolve quality concerns and maintain production schedules.

What are we looking for?

1. Proven experience as a QC Coordinator or Senior Quality Supervisor specifically for offshore pipelay and double‑jointing operations, involving Corrosion Resistant Alloy (CRA) line pipes.
2. Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
3. Minimum total 10 years of experience with 3 years’ experience in the same position. (i.e. QC Coordinator).
4. Strong leadership and coordination skills, with a track record of managing multi‑disciplinary inspection teams (Welding, Coating, Pipe Tally).
5. Comprehensive knowledge of international pipeline codes and standards (e.g., DNV-ST-F101, API 1104, ASME, AWS, ISO)
6. Valid and current certifications in relevant disciplines, such as Certified Welding Inspector (CSWIP 3.1/3.2, AWS CWI) and/or NDT Level II/III qualifications. FJC inspection certification (BGAS-CSWIP, NACE, or FROSIO) is highly advantageous
7. Expertise in reviewing and auditing technical drawings, quality procedures, NDT results (especially AUT), and inspection records.
8. Strong problem‑solving capability with experience managing client relations regarding quality alignment.
9. Strong documentation, reporting, and record‑keeping skills
10. Good command of English, both written and verbal
11. Ability to work on‑site, including offshore/remote locations as required
12. Attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and safety standards
