Job summary

Minneapolis-based Minnesota Public Utilities Commission seeks a seasoned policy advisor to guide complex regulatory matters across electricity, natural gas, energy facilities, and telecommunications. The role supports the Commission Chair and leadership by crafting messaging for meetings and hearings.

The position drives strategic development of intergovernmental priorities and coordinates with legislators and stakeholders to ensure alignment of budgetary and regulatory outcomes.

Qualifications

• Five years of professional work experience in state utility regulation, policy issues, and legislative processes.
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to Commissioners, legislators, and stakeholders.
• Experience developing and advocating legislative outcomes and budgetary strategies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as policy advisor to Commissioners on complex policy matters involving electricity, natural gas, energy facilities, and telecommunications.
• Prepare meeting and hearing messaging and presentation support for the Commission Chair and other Commissioners.
• Lead strategic development of legislative and intergovernmental priorities and communicate with Chairs, members, staff to align outcomes with agency priorities.
